Quick answer

Full-day Mostar tour stopping at Fortica Sky Walk, Blagaj Tekija, Bunski Kanali, Kravica Waterfall, and Pocitelj Ottoman fortress. 8 hours, max 8 guests, hotel pickup, English-speaking guide. €50 per person. Kravica entry €10 paid at gate. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before. Confirmation in 60 seconds.

What you'll experience

Five stops in eight hours, from the cliff above Mostar to the falls south of it.

Five stops across Herzegovina in eight hours — and one most tour groups skip. Pickup from your Mostar hotel at 9:00, back by 17:00.

We start at the Fortica Sky Walk above Mostar — a glass-floor platform with the best aerial view of Stari Most and the Neretva valley.

Then Blagaj Tekija, the 600-year-old dervish house at the source of the Buna spring, plus a quick stop at the Bunski Kanali — the local Buna river canals five minutes off the route, where Mostar families come to picnic. Most tour buses skip this one. We don’t.

Around midday you’ll arrive at Kravica Waterfall — Bosnia’s largest, 100 m wide, swimmable pool at the base. Lunch at the restaurant inside the park. Two hours of swim and photo time before we head back via Pocitelj, the Ottoman fortress town above the Neretva.

Drop-off at your Mostar hotel by 17:00.

Bosnia was supposed to be just a passing stop on our trip from Croatia to Montenegro, but this day changed that. We extended Mostar from one night to three because of what Armel showed us. The route is logical — Sky Walk first while the light's good, then west to Blagaj-Pocitelj-Kravica so you're moving with the sun. The Kravica swim at the end is genuinely earned after the full day of walking. Best €50 spent on the entire trip. Booking direct through the Explore Mostar site was straightforward and we got WhatsApp confirmation the night before with pickup time.

Four of us on a Balkans road trip, mostly self-drive, but for the Kravica day we wanted someone who knew the back routes. Armel did not disappoint. The Sky Walk gives you a vista you cannot get from anywhere in the Old Town — you actually see how Mostar sits in the river canyon. Pocitelj is criminally underrated. And Kravica in late April was warm enough to swim (we did jump in, water around 16°C, brisk but fine). Practical tip: bring proper swim shoes, the platform edges are slippery. Tour ended right at 5 PM back at the hotel as promised. Communication via WhatsApp was great — pickup time and our guide's name and photo arrived the night before.

Booked this directly through Explore Mostar rather than going through Viator and so glad I did. Armel picked us up from our hotel at 9 on the dot in a clean air-conditioned van. The Fortica Sky Walk start was unexpected — we'd never have found that ourselves and the photos came out incredible without any of the crowds. Blagaj Tekija was peaceful (we were there before the bus tours from Dubrovnik arrived), Pocitelj fortress climb was steep but doable for our 60-something parents, and the Kravica swim at the end was honestly the highlight of our entire Balkans trip. Six hours of perfect blue water and we had a corner of the swim platform almost to ourselves. €50 for the day is a steal.

Perfect introduction to Herzegovina for a couple visiting Mostar for the first time. We almost didn't book a tour and would have completely missed Pocitelj — none of the guide books we read mentioned it. The drive between stops is short (max 30 min between each) so it never feels rushed. Our guide gave honest answers about the war history rather than the sanitized version we got in Sarajevo. The Bunski Kanali stop was small but really beautiful, exactly the kind of place you'd never find on your own. Lunch was on us at a local restaurant in Pocitelj — about €15 per person for full traditional meal of ćevapi and burek.

Booked this in February which was probably borderline timing — Kravica was beautiful but no swimming (water around 12°C and shaded by cliffs that early in the year) and the Blagaj cliff felt extra dramatic with low clouds. Pocitelj was almost empty which I actually loved. Fortica Sky Walk was closed when we visited which the guide warned us about a day in advance. Honest communication, well-organized day, lovely van with heat working. One small thing: lunch wasn't included in the price and we didn't realize until on the day — would be helpful if that was clearer on the website. Otherwise no complaints, would book again in shoulder season.

Such an excellent, informative tour (although not an information overload, which was appreciated). A friendly service, lots of questions kindly answered, & a great way to experience harder to reach parts of Bosnia for travellers. Met some lovely people on the tour too, & our guide was awesome!

FAQ

Frequently asked

Should I book this tour or do it myself?

Self-drive looks cheaper on a spreadsheet (~€40 for car + fuel + parking + entries vs €50/pp tour + €10 Kravica), but it doesn't price what you actually trade away. **You'd be skipping**: the back road to Bunski Kanali (no signs, no GPS pin we share publicly), the 35 minutes of canyon switchbacks done by someone who drives it weekly, full-coverage insurance on a foreign rental, the storytelling between stops, and — most expensively — the driver of the day staying sober at Kravica while everyone else swims. **Pick self-drive only if** you have a car already, you've driven a Balkan canyon road in summer before, and someone in your group genuinely doesn't want to swim. Otherwise the €8–10/person we cost over self-drive is the cheapest stress insurance you'll buy in Bosnia.

What's the Kravica entry fee and why isn't it included?

€10 per adult (€5 children 6-12, free under 6), paid in cash at the gate. We don't include it because the park sometimes runs free promotional days, prices change seasonally, and bundling it into the tour price would mean we collect VAT on the park's fee — your money is safer paid direct. We tell you up-front so there's no surprise at the gate.

How is this different from the cheap Dubrovnik day tours at $54?

Three differences: (1) Group size — we're 8 max, they're 30+ in coaches. (2) Kravica entry — they don't include it either, but most don't tell you up-front; surprise €10 at the gate is the #1 complaint on TripAdvisor. (3) Time at Kravica — coach tours stop 1 hour, we give 2. Plus you start in Mostar, not Dubrovnik, so you're not spending 4 hours on a bus.

Can I swim at Kravica? Is the water cold?

Yes, swimming is allowed at the pool at the base of the waterfall. June-September water is 16-20 °C — bracing but doable. Most guests stay in 5-10 minutes. Outside that window the water is 11-14 °C and most people just photograph or wade. Bring a swimsuit + towel + water shoes (pool entry is rocky).

What is Bunski Kanali and why do you stop there?

A network of small Buna river canals 5 minutes off the highway between Blagaj and Mostar. Most large tours skip it because it's tucked away. We add it because it's beautiful, peaceful, and contrasts with the busy Tekija site. 30-minute walk + photo stop. Locals come here to picnic; you'll often see families having lunch on the riverbank.

What's NOT included that travellers often expect?

Lunch isn't included — you'll need around €10 cash at the Kravica park restaurant (mains are roughly €10, drinks extra). Kravica entry €10 is excluded (paid at the gate). Blagaj Tekija interior tour €5 is optional and not included. We tell you these up-front because surprise fees are the most-complained-about thing about competing day tours.

Is the tour suitable for kids?

Yes — kids 5+ love this tour. Free for under 5s. Half-price for 6-12. The walking is moderate: Pocitelj has 100+ stairs (skippable — sit at the café halfway, the view is the same), Kravica has uneven rocks at the swim platform, Blagaj is mostly flat. Bring water shoes for kids at Kravica.

What if it rains?

Light rain — we run. The waterfall is at its most dramatic in spring rain (highest water flow). Heavy storms or lightning — we offer to reschedule for free or refund 100%. Decision made by 14:00 the day before based on a real forecast, not a worst-case estimate.

Where do you pick up from? Can you do Sarajevo or Dubrovnik origin?

Free pickup from any address within Mostar city centre. From Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, or Split origin we can arrange — see [Sarajevo to Mostar day tour](/sarajevo-to-mostar-day-trip/), [Dubrovnik to Mostar day trip](/dubrovnik-to-mostar-day-trip/), [Split to Mostar day trip](/split-to-mostar-day-trip/). Or WhatsApp +387 61 209 388 for custom transfer + tour quote.

Can you do this as a private tour?

Yes — private departures with your own vehicle and guide start at €260 for 1-4 people, or €310 for 5-8. Your group only. Custom pace, extra stops at Trebizat River or Stolac on request, longer time at Kravica all possible. Add it at booking or message us.

Are tips expected for the guide?

Not expected. Tips are appreciated but never solicited. Most guests don't tip — that's fine. If you want to tip €5-10 per group is generous; €20 per group is exceptional.

Can I book just the transport and skip the tour?

Yes — that's our [private transfers](/private-transfers/) service. From €60/vehicle for short routes. For just Kravica, our scheduled hop-on shuttle launches summer 2026 at €25 round-trip — [WhatsApp us](https://wa.me/38761209388) for the current schedule.
